چکیده

Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is an important aquaculture species. However, their production and health sometimes threatened by pesticides. In common carp, extensive studies have been done for exposures of single pesticides, but effects mixtures such as those the commonly used chlorpyrifos dichlorvos, are still unknown this first phase work, acute lethal exposure experiment was conducted to estimate 24 h 96 concentrations (LC10–90) chlorpyrifos, dichlorvos mixture. Compared found be highly toxic tested Joint toxicity assessment these pesticides in binary dominated synergism. second experimental phase, were exposed sub-lethal (LD-10% HD-50% h-LC50) individual General fish behaviors, buccal movements feeding attempts recorded after 1 h, 48 72 whereas aerobic metabolism 0–24 24–48 48–72 72–96 exposure. All pesticide treatments elevated oxygen uptake a dose dependent manner. Feeding depression also observed The augmented deleterious effect mixture suggests that joint critical develop more realistic water quality standards monitoring guidelines.

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio

The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

Acute Toxicity and Behavioral Responses of Common Carp Cyprinus carpio (Linn.) To an Organophosphate (Dimethoate)

Dimethoate, a broad spectrum OP insecticide is a potential toxic pollutant, adversely affecting the fauna of aquatic ecosystem. The aim of present study was to assess the acute toxicity of dimethoate on fingerlings of common carp, Cyprinus carpio. The fingerlings were exposed to dimethoate to determine LC values for 24, 48, 72 and 96 h and to study the behavioural alterations. The mortality dat...

NeemAzal T/S – toxicity to early-life stages of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.)

In the European Union, the use of the insecticide NeemAzal T/S (standardised variant 1% of the active ingredient azadirachtin) is authorised in organic agriculture. The objective of this study was to determine the toxic effects of NeemAzal T/S at concentrations of 3, 10, 30, and 60 mg/l on the morphometric and condition characteristics, mortality, hatching, and histopathology of early-life stag...
